The MoS Project
The name of this project, The Mistress of Spices (The MoS), Singapore is inspired by a really famous book 'The Mistress of Spices' (1997) by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni.
Honestly, before I embarked on this project I did not know about the book. So with this, I went deeper into researching and consulting the experts in the spice trade, and also attended a quick training with one of the experts.
Along the way, I discovered many other exotic spices from this beautiful country - Madagascar. Clove, Pink Pepper, Black Pepper, Cinnamon - of course - the world famous and also the second most precious spice in the world - Vanilla Pods / Beans. Madagascar Vanilla quality is also recognised as the GOLD STANDARD in the Vanilla trade.
My other discovery is the beauty of the country, this beautiful country in the Indian Ocean (Bourbon) Region - Madagascar.
The logo of the Mistress of Spices (MoS) is also inspired by the colours of the Madagascar Flag - Red, Green, White.
