Storage Instructions
Store in a dry and cool place is key. Keep away from the Sun. Freezing is not recommended though storing with a temperature of below 14 Degree Celsius is recommended but not absolute necessary. Ambient storage is fine as long as it is still in a vacuum. But after you have opened it, storage in the fridge is fine but do store it in an air-tight container. Don't freeze it because freezing somehow dries up the beans.
These gourmet Vanilla Beans should be kept in air-tight, vacuum conditions in order keep intact its flexibility and its colour.
The expert says if you are just using a few stalks of the beans, best way to store it, is sticking them in your sugar container. You can use grease proof paper, wrap it around the beans before sticking them in, to avoid getting the sugar coating up your vanilla beans.
That way, in addition to preserving the vanilla beans, you can get the vanilla flavouring in your sugar! Add the sugar into your tea or coffee and your favourite beverage will never taste the same!
Shelf Life
24 months. Even though the effective shelf life of the bean has passed, this green gold is still usable. If the bean has dried up somewhat, you can in fact grind it in coffee grinder, make it into vanilla powder! Nothing goes to waste, seriously.
